Wrinkle Fillers are often used in a combination with other facial enhancement procedures to improve the overall cosmetic treatment. As it is a localized procedure it does not interfere with other procedures such as injectables or laser resurfacing.
Wrinkle fillers injections have been specially formulated to assist in the correction of facial contour degeneration and are injected using a disposable syringe with a very fine needle.
Injections can be utilised for a variety of treatments including on:
- Cheekbones
- Smile Lines
- Lip Enhancemnet
- Lines and Wrinkles
- Chin and Scars
There are two main approaches to Wrinkle Fillers treatment; temporary and permanent.
Facial expressions occur when the brain sends a signal to muscle tissue. Temporary wrinkle fillers block impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles to stop them contracting, leaving the overlying skin smooth and unwrinkled.
These injections wear off progressively over a period of three to five months, meaning that repeat injections may be needed two to three times a year. Early clinic studies indicate the duration of effect increases over time so you may require less frequent injections in the future to maintain the result you have come to like.
The pain associated with the injections is minimal. Many patients describe it as an ant bite sting for a few seconds. No local anaesthetic is required and you can resume normal activities immediately. Treatment takes around 15 minutes, depending on the number of areas you want to treat.
After injection, it takes two to three days for wrinkle fillers to begin taking effect and up to 14 days to see the full effect.
