Rhinoplasty is typically conducted over a period of an hour, to an hour and a half, depending on the nature of the procedure and whether other areas of the face are having combined treatments.
Working from the inside or outside of the nose, your doctor can modify the feature of the nose with a bump being effectively reduced or completely removed, the sides of the nose can be brought together the tip can be narrower and the tip can be made smaller or lifted.
The nostrils may need to be reduced in size which may result in a small incision on either side of the nose which will gradually fade over time.
For nose implants the doctor makes an incision within or outside the nose into which the implant is slid into position and sutured into place. The minimal incisions are then sutured closed.
Post-operative care involves the wearing of a small plaster cast is placed on the nose and is worn for around seven days for protection. A gauze drip pad is affixed below the nose under the nostrils and should be changed if it becomes soiled. In some cases, a nasal pack may be inserted into the nose to support the inside.
